Don't fly into a rage or pitch a tantrum. That's the ego doing the thinking. Tell the person thanks for pointing out where you might have made a mistake. Then leave the premises and talk a long walk or go sit in a cafe and drink yourself a cappuccino so you can consider what has been advised by your friend or partner. Chances are, what with the frenzy of planning and signing documents and borrowing money there might be a detail you overlooked. Take the other person's opinion about your goof under advisement. And don't forget to say "Thanks, Bud. I hadn't noticed that." Now that you have spiffed up your "Look" I will bet your love life is thriving. Your partner didn't dare mention that you had let your wardrobe grow shabby or that your hairstyle looked like something out of the 60's. But their renewed efforts at spending romantic evening alone with you will tell the tale. Next major overhaul will be decoration or renovation. Save your pennies.
